Applying for a place to early childhood education

There are 4 municipal day care centers in Karkkila, one of them operates as a shifting care   center (shift treatment from 5.30 am to 10.30 pm according to pre-announced needs and on weekends if necessary). Early childhood education units are generally open from Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 17:00.

You need to apply four months before the need for childcare begins. In exceptional circumstances, such as sudden employment or starting studies, apply two weeks before the  need for childcare begins. In case of an acute need for childcare, contact the Director of Early Childhood Education.

Care fees

Before starting a child´s early childhood education, we check the need for early childhood  education, pre-booked hours and how they will be used on a monthly basis.

The early childhood education fee is calculated based on the percentage below the  income limit determined according to the size of the family.

The income of the family considers the combined taxable earnings and capital  income of the service user and a person living with him or her in a joint marriage or in marital-related circumstances, as well as tax-free income, such as alimony.

Proofs of income must be submitted to Varhaiskasvatus, Valtatie 26D, 03600 Karkkila, by e- mail to varhaiskasvatus@karkkila.fi or by filling in the income statement form (printable PDF form). Income information must be provided no later than the fifth day of the month following  the start of treatment. The customer fee is determined according to the maximum fee if no proof of income is submitted.
